FireMate is a fire retardant sealant that swells when exposed to temperatures higher than 125°c to prevent the passage of smoke and fire. In suitably designed joints, a fire rated joint of up to 5 hours may be achieved. This sealant is also an excellent sound dampener and has been tested for air permeability. It is also a flexible sealant with a rating of 25% permanent flexibility. This sealant has excellent non-slump properties for overhead use and is over-paintable. It can be used in gaps of up to 50mm wide and 25mm deep.
This product is for use in sealing and filling gaps in fire related partition walls and structures. Sealing glass to timber and aluminium in fire rated applications. Sealing gaps in fire related walls and service trunking. Sealing around door frames. Sound deadening around plasterboard panels and joints. Sealing low movement construction joints.
How to use: All surfaces must be clean dry and sound. Using constant trigger pressure, apply sealant to the gap that is to be filled. Smooth down sealant with a wetted spatula. Can be painted over after curing. (24-48 hours)
